A Swedish Adventure

ystad, exhibition, art, greece, gilltomlinson, easterMick and I are newly back from our big adventure in southern Sweden, where we enjoyed a very pleasant break and working-holiday, whilst taking part in the annual Easter Art event in the south.

We are both big fans of the TV series Wallander and The Bridge, so it was an added bonus to not only drive over the bridge between Copenhagen and Sweden, but to stay in Wallander’s famous stomping ground.

Wallander, The BridgeOur stay in Vädergränd 4 in central Ystad really made our holiday. The rooms were warm and cosy (it was pretty cold outside!) and had underfloor heating in the bathroom and a well equipped and organised shared kitchen. The owners Bo and Lena were the perfect hosts and it was a delight to meet them and the other guests staying there. If you should ever visit Ystad, check out their website HERE.

In Ystad, our ‘Inspired by the Mediterranean‘ exhibition received a very favourable response and we met some really great people over the four days, including quite a few Greeks residing in Sweden and Swedes who enjoyed holidaying in Greece.

village-chairA Village House‘ was one of the most popular paintings in the Ystad exhibition. Both the original 30x30cm mixed-media painting and this new 50x50cm stretched giclee canvas print were on display. I particularly love the new 50cm size print, with its deep sides – the quality of print and colour reproduction are fabulous.

Many thanks to all our friends who contributed to making this a great trip.
