Sunny Sketching in Koroni

After a few weeks off for illness (and a bit of damp weather!) we were finally able to sketch outdoors again yesterday…

It was a glorious morning – blue skies and sparkly water – and rather warm in the sun!

We did several warm-ups and then settled down to take advantage of the conveniently placed nautical subject matter around Koroni harbour…

I opted for a quick fishing boat sketch whilst some of the group drew this decidedly Turkish looking structure…

There was some discussion as to what it was….I had been told by an elderly Greek gentleman that it’s purpose was to keep a light burning for the fishermen and that the flame burned constantly….Can anyone shed any light?
